I have done too many adventure tours to count, flown on many helicopters and with many pilots. Today, I had an amazing time with 5 Star on a quick trip to the Grand Canyon from Las Vegas...perfect customer service, real people all the way though, from the hotel pick-to, to check-in, through safety brief (especially) the flight and back to the hotel. 100% first rate, and Victoria is a wonderful person and excellent pilot. Thanks for a perfect day.

This is a great trip and certainly worth the money. Our pilot, Alex, did an excellent job of both piloting the helicopter and entertaining us. He was very informative. While I don't have helicopter experience I do have a lot of fixed wing time in small aircraft and I was impressed with his skills. We felt very comfortable and confident in his abilities. The operation itself ran smoothly. They were quite efficient with check in and everything ran exactly on time. The views of Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon are spectacular. Being able to fly below the rim in the helicopter is a big bonus as the view is completely different from that of a fixed wing craft. I would highly recommend this trip and 5 Star.

Tour was well organized. Did the Grand Canyon and skywalk tour with pilot Jimmy aka Alabama. Mercedes van picked us up at Venetian (SandsExpo) underground bus pickup. (No pickup at Palazzo). Bus was on-time 7:15) for the 9:00 flight. 5 people on our tour. 30-40 minute ride to Bolder City airport. 45 minute ride to West.Rim over Lake Mead and Hoover Dam. Followed Colorado river and dropped down below rim. Landed at West Rim airport and took van to skywalk. Front of line entrance but they do not let cameras or phones on bridge, but you can take photos on rocks outside bridge facility. Stunning views and they have photographers on the bridge to sell you pics. (Tour gets you one free). Pilot Jimmy was personable and informative. Van delivered us back to hotel just after noon. Tour is expensive with tour price, pics and tips but worth the price to see one of the 7 natural wonders.

Did the west rim helicopter tour today. Picked up at 7:30 in a beautiful sprinter van. Half hour to the airport during which we saw the safety video. Got checked in, had coffee, then met our pilot Brian. Flew over Hoover Dam and Lake Mead, then up the Grand Canyon (below the rim) to the reservation. Had two hours where we saw Eagle Point and Guano Point and got great pictures. Back to the airport and another great flight back. Arrived at the hotel before 2 pm so we've got the rest of the day. Brian was a wonderful pilot and tour guide. Highly recommended!!

Had an amazing time with Kyle today. We took the tour with an additional 2 hours of free time at west rim to do the skywalk and visit guano point. Highly recommend it to anyone who would like to have a glimpse of grand canyon without wanting to drive for hours.

I really enjoyed our helicopter tour around the Grand Canyon with 5 Star. I've flown on other helicopter tours in Hawaii and other places and really enjoyed the way 5 Star handled the pilot and service. I had 2 friends visiting from Brazil who'd never been to the Grand Canyon before, although I'd driven to the West Rim a few times. We used the landing at the West Rim tour where they drop you off at the Hualapai Reservation loop bus tour where we had the option to do the Sky-Walk, Visitor Center, Lunch, and walking around different areas of the rim before returning to the heli-port to ride the helicopter back.

We did the West Rim Indian encounter. Matt was an exceptional pilot. Sadly he couldn't make the river a pretty blue for my pictures. Instead I got the natural muddy look. He did explain why it was brown, and offered many facts and stories of all the places we flew too. If you want really great photos make sure you sit up front, or wait until you get to Guano Point. Make sure you go to Guano Point!! The views there are everything Matt promised they would be. Sadly I did not take his advice, and stayed too long at the skywalk. Guano Point is far superior to the skywalk. Spend most of your time here!! Thank you Matt!! Next time I fly you better drop some big blue toilet tabs in the river so my pictures don't have that ugly brown color.

A great way to check out the Grand Canyon from Las Vegas is through a helicopter!! With the ~5 hrs that it would take you to drive there one way, you could fly there, enjoy and be back. I did a lot of research and found many options so I'll break it down for ya'll: *Do you want to just fly around or make a landing (more photo opps)? *If landing, do you want to land at the base (more exclusive feel) or at the top (airport, then take shuttle)? *Do you want to fly from Las Vegas airport (shorter ride but longer flight) or Boulder City (the opposite in ride/flight duration)? *Do you want to fly first thing in the am (cheaper) or do a sunset flight (pricier)? *Do you want to have a champagne toast/meal there or just go and come back? I chose a 10am flight out of Boulder City. They picked me up around 8:30am at my hotel to the 5 star office where you can use restrooms, buy souvenirs and enjoy some complimentary coffee/tea. Ride was about 40mins or so. 5 star did a good job reconfirming the pick up times even if it was changed by 10 minute intervals. The Mercedes van was on time and the driver was nice. Check in was pretty simple and they showed you a safety video while you're on the van. Boulder city is further from the strip so you won't see the strip while flying but I heard it's a quieter departure point so not affected by any of the Vegas regulations. The fly to Grand Canyon, in return, is slightly shorter, I heard. About 45 minutes or so. Our Pilot Jeff very nice and helped us take pics. He pointed out places as we flew and tried to keep things fun. The helicopter has 180 degree views but the front seat are the best of course. I requested front seats so they gave them to us on the way there and we switched with others on the way back. It was bit tight with 4 adults in the back but fine for a short flight. On the way there, we passed by Hoover Dam, the bypass bridge, and Lake Mead. Entrance to Grand Canyon is very nice but it ends very quick. I wished you could actually fly longer through GC but understand there are regulations. Where we flew by was mostly brown instead of the iconic red hues you see in pictures. As soon as we landed, we had to take the shuttle to Eagle point where you can be on your own for about half an hour since its 15-20 mins each way on the shuttle. The view from Eagle point was great and you have the option to buy tickets to the Sky Walk, the glass bridge for $25pp. The shuttle also takes you to Guanamo point which seemed very nice too. Had we known, we might have split our short time between the two. On the way back, there really isn't much to see. I was sleepy and hungry and almost fell asleep so make sure you eat before as you probably won't have time to eat there. Back in the 5 star office, they show you the picture they take before you get on the helicopter that you can purchase and they also offer you champagne, beer and wine. Overall, it was a great experience!
