Your flight will take you past the 726-ft.-high and 1,244-ft.-long Hoover Dam, a modern marvel of engineering. The dam took 3,250,000 cubic yards of concrete to construct – enough to pave a two-lane highway from San Francisco to New York.
Cross the shimmering teal blue waters and stunning sandstone shorelines of Lake Mead on your way to the Grand Canyon. Formed by the Hoover Dam, Lake Mead is the largest reservoir in the U.S. in terms of capacity, and the largest man-made lake in the U.S. The lake is 112 miles long when full, has 759 miles of shoreline, and is 532 feet at its greatest depth. It is also home to thousands of desert plants and animals, adapted to survive where rain is scarce and temperatures can soar.
The best way to view the Grand Canyon. Soar over the canyon as it overwhelms your senses through its immense size and unique combinations of geologic color and erosional striations. This epic canyon is 277 river miles long, up to 18 miles wide, and a mile deep.

I surprised my mom with a trip to Las Vegas for her 71st birthday. I decided that it would be nice to do a tour of the Grand Canyon as something my mom would always remember. I asked a friend and he highly recommended Sundance. And I am so glad I did. The experience was incredible. Easy registration, no delays and an amazing staff. We took off on schedule and visited every location with ease. Awesome views - we took amazing pictures. It was truly a wonderful experience and my mom was in awe. A very special shout out to our pilot Byron who was just as informative as he was funny. Sundance you have a good one there! It is a bit expensive if you do the full tour with limo pick up and the riverboat ride but so worth it. My advice if you are going to do the tour, go all the way with Sundance!
I did the Ultimate 4-in-one tour - it's interesting. We were picked up from the hotel and delivered to the airport, where we checked in and were briefed on the flight - the process is very good. Our pilot, Chuck, introduced himself and escorted us to the helicopter where he gave us flotation vests and showed us how to use the headset/microphone when we were airborne. The 45 minute flight gave lots of great into both from a recorded commentary, but also the pilot. When we arrived at the Grand Canyon we were dropped off at the Colorado River and made our way to the jetty. The boat ride was very relaxing and spectacular. We were then taken by helicopter up to the "rim" to Grand Canyon West airport, where we got instructions about the shuttle bus and meal options available. From here, we were given free time (2.5 hours) to spend how we liked - the shuttle bus goes around three stops - Hualapai Ranch (shops and some exhibits), Eagle Point (for Sky Walk and Indian Village) and Guano Point (for spectacular views). The bus runs often and it's possible to spend good time at each stop. We were given a time to be back at the airport where we met our pilot again and flew back to Las Vegas, including a flight path alongside Downtown and The Strip. A limo then delivered us back to our hotels. It's a good day.
What an amazing birthday surprise from my husband! We were picked up at our hotel by limo and taken to the airport where we were greeted by several enthusiastic staff members who checked us in. Upon check in, we were given name tags and group numbers and asked to watch a brief safety video on the features of the helicopter. Our pilot, Michael, then greeted our group (6 total) and again did a safety briefing and explained what we could expect of our tour. Let's be honest, 7 people in a helicopter is crowded! 4 in the back and 3 in front - and they seat you by weight to balance things out...pray you get a window seat for best pictures! Our tour consisted of flying by Lake Mead, seeing the Hoover Dam, extinct volcanos, and beautiful scenery all on our way to the Grand Canyon. We got to listen to a guided tour while we were flying and in between landmarks, we heard lots of cheesy "flight music" which was fun (all flying related songs...think Top Gun) Once we reached the Grand Canyon we were flown to the bottom of the canyon where we hopped on a pontoon boat and took a short ride on the Colorado River. After the boat ride, we then flew back to the top where we would catch one of their many buses that take you to 3 different stopping points to see the Grand Canyon. We also did a skywalk that was an engineering marvel that is all glass and cantilevers out over the canyon! What a beautiful site! This is the BEST WAY to experience the Grand Canyon when in Las Vegas - by land, by air, and by water.
We did a tour of the Grand Canyon in February. Our pilot was Drew - he was excellent! There were four in our group so we got a helicopter to ourselves. I can't remember the name of the package we chose, but we were picked up by a limo at our hotel around 6 am. After all the admin and safety stuff we were off! First time in a helicopter and it was amazing! Drew pointed out a lot of interesting things and there was also a prerecorded narrated tour (which had really great music) for parts of the ride. We got to see the Hoover Dam on the way out. When we arrived first we landed at the bottom of the canyon and went on a boat ride, then back in a helicopter for a short trip to the top. We landed at a welcome center sort of place where were given a map, the rundown on the bus routes, and the time to be back by for our trip back to the Strip. The bus had different stops. The first we went to was a sort of old west town/ranch. We were pretty early so things weren't really hopping yet, but it wasn't crowded or hot so that made up for it. We chatted with the guys at the horse barn, stopped by the gift shop, talked to the band. One of the young men from the horse barn even gave us a short roping lesson - and let us try it out too! We hopped back on the bus. The next stop had the skywalk, which we didn't do. It was amazing enough without it, and we were able to walk right up to the edge of the canyon (or as close as we dared). No guardrails here! Our next stop on the bus was where we had lunch (included in our helicopter package). To be honest I wasn't expecting much. It turned out to be really tasty. We all went with the chicken (I can't remember what the other choice was). It came with a salad, potatoes, veggies, and a cookie. We had a table close to the edge of the canyon. What a view for lunch! After lunch we hopped on the bus back to the welcome centre and had time to wander around the gift shop before meeting up with Drew again to head back to the city. Definitely feel it was worth the money to upgrade to the package we chose. It was a once in a lifetime thing (or not, we may end up doing it again in the future!) and I'm glad we didn't feel rushed at all.
We booked the round trip helicopter ride from Vegas, the pontoon boat excursion, and a meal. (We already did the Skywalk on a previous excursion with Maverick tours. Highly recommend the Skywalk, though not for the faint hearted). The limo driver from the hotel to the airport was entertaining and friendly. The helo ride was smooth and scenic; the pilot was engaging and friendly. The meal wasn't bad, standard BBQ fare; we ate at the Village because we purchased the Zipline while we were there.
Took the 6 hour excursion and Nate was our Pilot WOW!!!!!!!!! We saw the Hoover Damn, some of the most beautiful scenery on the planet. We landed at the bottom of the canyon for a boat ride on the Colorado river and the guide a descendant of the tribe that takes great care of the land gave us about the best tour. You can see just how much they tribe and the people love and revere the land. When it was time to leave Bert picked us up and flew us to the bus tour portion on the trip Bert was also a really nice guy. The trip included a visit to the Skyfall amazing, the 4 stops on the tour were all great hindsight being 20/20 I'd of started with Guano Point 1st then worked my way back. One thing is for sure no matter if you a spiritual person or not looking at the Grand Canyon just takes your breathe away. The fact that man made the Hoover Damn is unbelievable. The trip was 6 hours in total as worn out as we were we wished it had been longer I don't think you can ever get tired of looking at that scenery. Again, thanks Nate a fellow Dawg for taking care of my wife letting her sit up front to get some really good pictures we'll remember and recommend you guys for a very long time.
SUNDANCE This was the highlight of our Las Vegas trip! Although pricey (around $1000 for two of us), it was worth every penny. Our pilot was awesome and very friendly. The flight was so comfortable in the air conditioned helicopter, even in 100+ degree weather. Spring for the front seat upgrade!
Loved the tour. my husband and son went on this tour to Grand Canyon with Sundance Helicopters and really had fun, they even upgraded us for free to the bigger helicopter ECO Star. Great trip to round out our vacation. Kathy Williams
