Grand Canyon Flight with Landing Overview
Soar over panoramic views of all the major landmarks between Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon including Hoover Dam, Lake Mead and the vast Mojave Desert before indulging in a champagne picnic in the canyon.
What to Expect
To start your experience off right, we’ll pick you up from your hotel in a stretch limousine* and bring you to our beautiful pre-flight lounge.
* Please note this is a shared limousine service with other Sundance passengers. Private limousines may be booked upon request for a nominal fee.
Enjoy music, narration, and pilot commentary of the major landmarks and history timed perfectly to your flight. And for our guests where English is not their first language, we offer extensive language options to make certain that everyone gets the most out of their experience.
Your flight will take you past the 726-ft.-high and 1,244-ft.-long Hoover Dam, a modern marvel of engineering. The dam took 3,250,000 cubic yards of concrete to construct – enough to pave a two-lane highway from San Francisco to New York.
Traverse the beautiful mountain and sandscapes of the Mojave Desert. The Mojave appears harsh and barren from a distance, but a closer look reveals a wide array of habitats–mountains, valleys, springs, forests and wetlands–that shelter an abundance of plant, fish and animal species.
Cross the shimmering teal blue waters and stunning sandstone shorelines of Lake Mead on your way to the Grand Canyon. Formed by the Hoover Dam, Lake Mead is the largest reservoir in the U.S. in terms of capacity, and the largest man-made lake in the U.S. The lake is 112 miles long when full, has 759 miles of shoreline, and is 532 feet at its greatest depth. It is also home to thousands of desert plants and animals, adapted to survive where rain is scarce and temperatures can soar.
Follow the winding path of the mighty Colorado River into the Grand Canyon. The river is 1,450 miles long and has a flow of 800 million gallons of water per hour.
Soar through the powerful and inspiring landscape of the Grand Canyon, one of the seven natural wonders of the world. The canyon overwhelms your senses through its immense size and unique combinations of geologic color and erosional striations. This epic canyon is 277 river miles long, up to 18 miles wide, and a mile deep. Because of our close relationship with the Hualapai Tribe, we’re able to land down in the canyon where you can explore the landscape from the ground. This is the only area where landing is allowed in the canyon.
Toast your Grand Canyon adventure with a glass of bubbly in true Sundance style.
Enjoy a meal from your own personal picnic basket, while taking in the sights 3,200 feet below the rim of the canyon.

Fly over the famous Las Vegas Strip! Past the Stratosphere Tower, Caesars Palace and hope for a glimpse of the Bellagio’s fountains before spotting the skyline of New York-New York and the beam atop the Luxor pyramid. Experience the best way to view the Las Vegas Strip during the evening.

Great experience with Sundance! It was my dream to see the Grand Canyon and we didn't have a lot of time in Vegas so we decided to go on the tour. It was nice that they rotate people so you or somebody who you with can sit in the front either on the way or back. It was beautiful, safe and good organized. Def recommend doing it!
My husband and I did the Grand Canyon Picnic Tour a few weeks ago. It was my first time in a helicopter, and my first time to the Grand Canyon. What an amazing experience!! Our pilot, Erika, was fantastic! She was very sweet, and very friendly. The ride was beautiful, and very smooth. I had the vegetarian lunch and it was delicious! They take your photo before you get on the helicopter, and I never purchase these. Well, this was the exception! The photo was beautiful, and mounted on a lovely little plaque. I just had to have it! All in all, a fantastic experience, and I would recommend it to anyone! Don't miss out on this! Perfection in every way!
My Fiance and I took the tour of the Grand Canyon . It was an incredible experience from beginning to end. The staff of Sundance was very professional. They called a couple days before the tour to reconfirm our pick up point and time. The limo was absolutely beautiful and the driver was excellent. He even offered to take our picture next to the limo. The pilot was outstanding. He could not have been a better guide. Headphones in the aircraft provided music which made it even more majestic as we flew over the mountains of hills headed for the canyon. He fielded questions from us all and took us to a beautiful spot where we landed and had our champagne lunch. I would highly reccommend this trip to anyone that wants to see the canyon. It was topped off by a flight down the strip. I will always treasure the pictures and video I got that day.
I scheduled a helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon with a picnic lunch and champagne toast at the bottom. This included a ride back and a fly over the Las Vegas Strip at night. I ordered a birthday cake through Sundance, which was YUMMY and had exactly what I wanted written on the cake! This was a surprise for my boyfriend's birthday. Everything was top notch from the limousine picking us up from our hotel and dropping us off at the airport (and then, again from the airport to the hotel). I requested front seats of the helicopter when I signed up (about 4 months in advance) and we did get the front seats. Our pilot was very knowledgeable and super friendly. We enjoyed her company and her hospitality. There's a recording in your ear that tells you what you're flying over and tells you cool and exciting facts. The music selection that went with this production was spot on. We felt 100% safe and in good hands the entire time (and this is coming from someone with high levels of anxiety). The lunch was great, as well as the champagne. We got to explore for about 30 minutes, which was really neat. Every staff member that we encountered was knowledgeable and friendly. Don't forget to tip for service because gratuities are not included!!!
What a once in a lifetime experience and a great way to celebrate hubby's big birthday. Planned and reserved the helicopter that landed in the Grand Canyon from Las Vegas At a little under$500 each we had a stretch limo pick us up at our hotel and take us directly to the helicopter location. Located at McCarran Airport it was very close to our hotel. Once we got to Sundance they checked you in and weighed you on the scales with your personal belongings that you will be taking with you on the helicopter. They take this very serious and if you weigh over 250 LBS you have to pay for an additional seat ouch. Good reason to lose weight before going. I wanted to buy a souvenirs in their Gift Shop however they told me since we already weighed in to get it on our return. Once they were ready to go you were sent to your assigned pilot by number. My husband and I went with 4 others that were also with us from the same hotel that morning. The pilot had taken photos of us to buy later at the Gift Shop in front of the helicopter. Before we took off he had the family of 4 in the back and me and my husband up front. On the way back we sat in the back. It was a smooth ride unlike a small airplane which I have done and was sick. It was beautiful and memorable trip. The pilot played music going and coming that matched the majestic views. Once we landed at the Grand Canyon we had about 45 minutes to walk around talk pictures and we all had picnic lunches served with champagne which was delicious. Once we landed my husband said it was worth every penny.
This was a fantastic experience. The tour took us over the Hoover Dam, Lake Mead and into the Grand Canyon. The views are amazing. At the landing site inside the canyon they serve you champagne and some food. There were four other passengers, for a total of six. We rotated seats on the way back, everyone got to experience different views. Our pilot seemed like a consummate professional and we always felt perfectly safe. (Although there was some choppy air, which it turns out is a little more nerve-wracking in a helicopter than aboard a jetliner.) Our pilot was also a font of knowledge about the sights we were passing and the surrounding countryside.
Awesome views and pilot Travis, our tour pilot, was a quite unique individual keeping all 6 of us passengers in stitches as we laughed and smiled our way thru some of the most memorable sights we ever saw and his professionalism will always be with us in our memories. Thank you Travis! - mlkwright
Amazing Service From the limo arrival to departure, the staff at Sundance was exceptional. They were welcoming, organized, efficient and funny. Everyone on my helicopter received undivided attention and concern. The ride was smooth and breathtaking. One of my favorite parts was the music that was scored perfectly to the ride, serious props to whoever did that, I wanted to dance with delight in my seat. Really beautiful vistas into the Grand Canyon and incredible experience that felt like I was transported to another planet and was an explorer. Highly recommend the company and ride!
